I practise traditional Chinese acupuncture (TCM), which is a complete healthcare system that's stood the test of time. It can treat a vast range of conditions and is usually extremely effective.
I have over ten years of clinical experience in Bristol and have successfully treated many conditions, including: migraine and headache, “IBS” and other digestive disorders, hay fever and other allergies, asthma, premenstrual syndrome, period pains, a wide range of muscular and joint problems, sciatica, “high blood pressure”, anxiety, panic attacks, and more.
If you'd like to discuss how acupuncture can help you, or would like to book your initial consultation and treatment, please do contact me for a friendly chat. I look forward to working with you to improve your health.
I had my first acupuncture treatment in 1994, to address a shoulder problem I’d had for many years. I'd tried various conventional treatments, which had no effect, and then someone suggested acupuncture. During my first treatment, I found the experience profound. The acupuncturist used only a small number of fine needles at a few locations on my body (none of them near my shoulder) and I became aware of a powerful force being released from deep within me. For some years, I'd felt my energy was low and I’d assumed it was part of getting old (I was then only in my early thirties). But on the day after my first acupuncture treatment, I felt I had the energy of a nineteen year old again, which has remained with me since. I also felt like a different person; I felt I’d been brought back to life in some undefinable way.
I completed the course of treatments, and my life was transformed. Not only was my health transformed, but I also found that miraculous coincidences started happening to me. Whatever I needed in life, just seemed to present itself to me, be it perfect job offers, perfect accommodation, or the perfect solution to whatever my particular needs were at any time. I've since noticed this same process happening with my own patients. It seems that acupuncture puts you more in touch with your own body and your own body more in touch with ‘nature’ (or ‘the universe’—call it what you will), so that your own needs and the solution to them appear to be drawn to one another.
Since that first course of acupuncture treatments, I've religiously pursued my interest in working with this ‘energetic force’ that flows through all our bodies (and also seems to connect all living things), the force that acupuncture utilizes to heal us on every level, physical, mental and emotional.
After moving to Bristol in 1996, I went through various other transformations and finally the time seemed right for me to start training in acupuncture. I didn’t hesitate; I took the opportunity, and at every moment since starting my own practice, it's seemed that I'm now doing what I was intended to do.
I have testimonials from existing clients, commenting on the effectiveness of my treatments.
I'm deeply committed to natural healing, and in particular to proper Traditional Chinese acupuncture (TCM).
I tend to practise acupuncture in the evenings, but also provide some afternoon or weekend appointments (I prefer Sundays), for those who find that more convenient.
I use sterile, disposable acupuncture needles. These are individually packaged and are used once, then disposed of.
I was awarded a professional Licentiate Diploma in Acupuncture following three years of full time study.
I'm a member of The Acupuncture Society, which has a strict code of ethics and other safeguards. Only practitioners who've proved their competence to practise holistic acupuncture are able to join this body.
I have full professional practitioner insurance, which includes Public Liability.
When you're exploring the possibility of seeking acupuncture treatment, I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email.
